I built this site for an artist client who creates some really interesting metal/industrial art out of mostly found objects. I decided to challenge myself with this project by building him a custom CMS from scratch. I had just begun messing with CMS platforms and I decided that I wanted to have a crack at building one from the ground floor before I started using other products. I don’t know if it was more of a curiosity thing or a stubborn thing, but it taught me a lot about database security and string sanitization, planning for worst case scenarios, and thinking like/preparing for someone who just doesn’t know much about the web.
